Wednesday, 23rd October, 2019, the new team of the BCCI was
selected, where Sourav Ganguly took charge
as the president. All the new members that are selected are young and do not
have any experience with the apex council. So, it is believed that Sourav Ganguly will have to
face many challenges while performing his role as president. Especially when
the BCCI has already announced to host more than 2000 matches in 2018-19.
Let us know in detail about the new panel:
President- Sourav Ganguly
is well versed with the administration of cricket since he has been the former
captain of the Indian cricket team. Since 2015, he has also been the CAB president. Ganguly retired
from cricket in the year 2008 but his association with the sport has not been
broken. After his retirement, he was a member of the governing council of IPL and was
leading the technical committee of BCCI. His
position as the president of the board will be terminated between july to
august in 2020.
Vice president- Mahim Verma
There was a man who was responsible for placing cricket on
the map of Uttarakhand way before it got the
status of an individual state, and that is PC Verma. And now his son Mahim is

secretary is extremely vital before he sets for a cooling off.
Councilor- Prabhtej Singh Bhatia
In the current apex council, Prabhtej is believed to be the
youngest of all members. He is the son of Baldeo Singh Bhatia, the former
president of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Sangh. Currently, he is running the state
association and is designated with making cricket goods available at the BCCI.
Treasurer- Arun Singh Dhumal
Dhumal is the younger brother of Anurag Thakur who was a BCCI’s chief in the
past. In September, he was appointed as the HPCA’s head. Dhumal has been representing HPCA in
several meetings of the BCCI in the past, and now
he will be acting as its treasurer.
