40th India Day Parade Celebrations in New York

NEW YORK: Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) President Mr. Kenny Desai during the fourth Parade Council Meeting, unveiled FIA’s 40th Grand Marshal Pan-India Mega Star Allu Arjun of ‘Pushpa’ fame, to grace and march in the India Day Parade in New York City on August 21, 2022.

Mr. Desai also announced details of the FIA’s planned grand events in the coming weeks and months to celebrate India’s 75 years of Independence – Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The Grand Marshal Allu Arjun will lead the parade along with NYC Mayor Eric Adams and a host of other distinguished dignitaries and celebrities who will participate.

Renowned artists Shankar Mahadevan and Kailash Kher will lead the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations planned by the FIA; the organization announced during its 4th Parade Council meeting. At this year’s parade, FIA said attempts will be made to set the Guinness World Records for the ‘Most Different Flags Flown simultaneously’ and the ‘Largest Damaru Ensemble.’

FIA President Kenny Desai thanked the committee for their tireless work and sincere efforts and said he is proud to be part of the team which has been working tirelessly round the clock to put together this event of massive proportion.

Speaking at the occasion, the FIA Chairman Mr. Ankur Vaidya welcomed the announcement of Allu Arjun as FIA’s 40th Grand Marshal and complimented the megastar for his kindness and patriotism towards the motherland. The American-Indian community is super excited to welcome their beloved star, and we will pull out all the stops to make him feel at home and make him feel welcome.
