Chicago IL: Thank all those who came and supported AMEC and MEATF’s Campaign kickoff for City of Chicago elections, Sunday December 9 at Sinha Restaurant, Chicago.

Sam Ma & Eddie Lee From Chinatown : Chinese American Community Association, Father Bogdan & Michael G from Ukrainian American Community, Dr Sreenivas Reddy, Dr Vemuri Murthy, Ajeet Singh & Biju Kizhakettu from Indian American Community, Chief Akthar Ali , Dr Rana of APPNA, & Mohammed Quareshi From Pakistani American Community, Mohammed Abdullah, & Dr Jawad Hamdan from Palestine American Community , Amin Kiswani From Chicago Small Business Assns, Dr Gladys Folorunsho From Nigerian American Community, Ms Busy from Ghanaian American Community, Abdul Kiswani From Middle Eastern American Community, Ms Annie G from Uptown Concerned Citizens, Chicago, Dr Zenobia Sowell & Dr Gwen Appleberry from African American Community, Jorginia Periera & Dr Ladly from Brazilian American Community among others.
Alderman Ed Smith gave the invocation. Dr Clarence Beaks Executive Director AMEC thanked the ethnic community leaders for their overwhelming support in launching the campaign and underlined the need to speak collectively with ONE voice .Alderman Jason Ervin spoke of the importance of the ethnic communities vote and support during the forthcoming Chicago elections with numerous candidates contesting for some of the key positions like Mayor &, Treasurer.
Finance Guru State Rep Melissa Conyears Ervin who is a qualified financial professional with a Bachelirs & Masters Dehree in Accounting & Corporate experience coupled with Administrative & political expertise spoke of importance of ethnic communities especially minorities to get involved in establishing minority owned Banks and detailed her campaign manifesto.
Dr Vijay Prabhajar, President AMEC & Founder Chair of MEATF asserted that the Fundraising Dinner raised more than the target goal and traced the historic growth of this Multi Ethnic movement over the last ten years.
Ms Leontine Horne, President, American Friendship Society joined AMEC & MEATF in endorsing Melissa Ervin for Chicago Treasurer’s position.
Westside’s Rising Star & Young Turk Gerard Moorer in his closing remarks thanked Congressman Davis and Secretary Jesse White for spearheading Melissa’s campaign which will send the first Westside Citizen to a Chicago city wide position and announced that AMEC will host three other fundraisers for Melissa for Chicago Treasurer before the voting date February 26, 2019.
