The second AnimeJapan event at the Tokyo Big Sight complex drew 121,540 people over the weekend. The event ran from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22. The number exceeds last year’s attendance of 110,000 visitors. This year included a business-only day. About 2,500 visitors were business-related, including from overseas. A total of 659 organizations (574 Japanese, 85 foreign) were in attendance.
AnimeJapan’s third convention will return to Tokyo Big Sight and run from March 25 to March 27, 2016.
The AnimeJapan event debuted last year as the merger of two previous events — Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) and Anime Contents Expo (ACE).
TAF drew 105,855 across four days in 2013. ACE brought in 70,675 visitors over two days in 2013.
