Chicago IL: Asha Bhonsle, the most passionate, prolific, and versatile singing legend in Bollywood history, has had a magnificent career spanning over six decades. Talat Aziz, although a junior to her by many years, created his own space by singing ghazals, sufi, and film songs.
Ashaji (as she is lovingly called) and Talat Aziz jointly set the stage literally on fire, when they came together at the Sears Center Arena, at Prairie Stone Parkway, Hoffman Estates, IL, Chicago on Saturday, August 29th, 2015. For their hardcore fans, this event was truly a dream come true. This concert was presented by Sahil and L. A. Tan, who are known for bringing quality entertainment to Chicago audiences.
Sahil and LA TAN are pioneer in USA for organizing big shows of Bollywood star in Chicagoland area. Explaining the reasons for success in show business, Bhavesh CEO of Saahil said that it could be because of much bigger group with more musicians and sophisticated equipment including State of the art stage decoration with flickering rotating colorful coordination hypnotizing laser light system to augment the performance impact. With such state-of-the-art set up on the stage, Sears Center Arena never looked like this before. It was a collective effort of Bhavesh Patel, Babu Patel CEO of Sahil, Mayur and Nick Patel, CEO of L.A. Tan.
The Ashaji’s Majic: The Electrifying Fusion The concert kick started with Ashaji singing her classic number: “In aankhon ki mastike mastane hazaron hain”, which set the mood of the event and was followed by a flood of melodies. Ashaji not only entertained the traditional music lovers and mature audiences, but also connected equally with the younger generation and romantic music lovers with her popular evergreen numbers from Bollywood. Some of the songs she sang were: “Dil cheez kya aap meri jaan leejhiye”, “Jhumkagira re bareli ke bazaar mein”, “Parde mein rehne do parda na uthao”,Yeraatein ye mausam nadi ka kiunara”, “Hare rama hare krihna, krishna krishna”Zara sa jhoom loon main”, “Piya tu ab toh aja” and “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko” The playful, unorthodox, romantic, youthful, and never-say-die attitude of Ashaji was a pleasant surprise for the audience, especially for the non-Indian counterparts. Even at the age of 83, she captured the heart and soul of all the music lovers with her energetic performance. The enthusiastic audience responded by giving a thunderous applause, almost after every song of hers. Everyone in the audience was on their feet dancing. A huge crowd danced in front of the stage too.
Talat began his performance by singing the famous “Chandini ka Raat”, followed by and his own ghazal from the film Umrao Jaan, “Zindagijab bhi teri bazm mein laati hai hamein”. He enthralled the audience thoroughly, who in turn kept applauding him throughout the performance. He rendered famous songs of Kishore Kumar and Mukesh, which took the audience down memory lane and made them quite nostalgic. “Ashaji is a living legend and the most versatile of all South Asian singers”, said Talat. “It is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to share the stage with this gifted singer”, added Talat. Ashaji who has sung over 12,000 songs, is considered to be one of the greatest playback singers in Bollywood history. Talat who made a foray into the world of music in 1979 and 35 years later his voice still resonates across the music firmament.

He also thanked his supporters, associates and sponsors. The event concluded with a standing ovation from the audience in appreciation of the extraordinary performance of Ashaji and Talat Aziz.
