Mumbai: Allcargo Logistics’ NGO, Avashya Foundation, in a bid to promote sports in the country, has tied up with two UK based cricket associations, Project Front Foot and Reality Gives. These associations will help Allcargo to reach out to underprivileged children and introduce them to sports, like cricket. The associations have also resulted in the creation of Dharavi Cricket Club that Avashya Foundation launched last year. The objective of this initiative is providing cricket coaching and develop budding cricketers in the Dharavi, Mumbai.
Under a unique campaign called ‘Kits 4 Kids’, Project Front Foot teamed up with Lancashire County Cricket Club Foundation and arranged a collection drive in Bradford, Derby, Nottingham and Manchester. The drive across UK helped several sensitive citizens to come forward and donate their cricket gears and kits for the underprivileged kids of Mumbai.
Sports has been an important focus area for Allcargo since the beginning. It regularly organizes intercompany sports events to promote the sportsmanship within the company and outside. Avashya Foundation, too has initiated various activities to help underprivileged section of the society to play quality games, hone their skills and enable them to focus on their studies.
Through associations like these Avashya Foundations proposes to do its bit towards society.

Sports and physical education is fundamental to the early development of children and youth. Skills acquired through sports contribute to the holistic development and help cope with winning and losing.”
