~Helps them beat the heat while maintaining road discipline~
Pune, May 25, 2018: Bank of Maharashtra distributed caps and masks as a shield from dust and heat among traffic police officers at Shivaji Nagar, Pune. Shri Anil Garde (Assistant General Manager), Mahabank, Shri Prashant Khatavkar (General Manager and Zonal Head), Bank of Maharashtra, Pune, Shri Prabhakar Dhamale, Assistant Commissioner of Police and other employees of Bank of Maharashtra were present at the event
On the occasion, Shri Khatavkar, Zonal Manager, Pune, Bank of Maharashtra said, “We are aware that the traffic police force works in a very difficult situation while responsibly performing their duties in regulating the constantly increasing traffic in Pune. Their contribution to the society is immense. As a small gesture of support, Bank of Maharashtra is distributing caps and masks to protect the traffic policemen from dust and summer heat.”
A recent study on road accidents showed that Pune city registered a 9.59% increase in the number of road accidents in 2017 over the previous year.
Talking on the importance of maintaining traffic discipline while Shri Prabhakar Dhamale, ACP -Traffic, reasoned, “Accidents happen primarily due to non-compliance of traffic rules by motorists and drivers. We request all motorists and drivers to maintain lane discipline and follow all the rule and avoid such incidents.”
