Bank of Baroda founded by the late Maharaja of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III on 20 July 1908 celebrated its 110th Foundation on 20th July 2017. Bank’s Pune Zone celebrated the Foundation Day in a glittering function held at Kalmadi High School Auditorium Pune, in which bank staff completing 25 years of service and children of staff members scoring more than 80% marks in 10th and 12th standard exams of various boards were felicitated.
Eminent astrophysicist Dr. Jayant Narlikar graced the function as the Chief Guest. M.D and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra Mr. R.P Marathe, Mr. A.D. Parulkar, General Manager Pune Zone, Mr. A.K Gupta, Deputy General Manager, Pune Zone, Mr. A.K Chugh Deputy General Manager Pune Region, other executives of the bank, staff members and valued customers of the bank also attended the function. Dr. Narlikar appreciated the bank’s successful journey and complimented the bank for consistently introducing innovative customer centric initiatives.
The bank has always endeavored to support various social causes and in recognition of its responsibilities towards the society at large, various CSR initiatives were undertaken by Pune Zone to commemorate the bank’s Foundation Day. The activities included a Blood Donation Camp, Sponsoring Meal at Nivara Old Age home, Donation of Blankets to new born babies at Sassoon Hospital and a tree plantation drive at ARAI Hill. Apart from this, all the branches of bank’s Pune Zone also undertook various social initiatives to celebrate the Foundation Day week.
