Pune, February 10, 2019: Bank of Maharashtra proudly celebrated its 84th ‘Business Commencement Day’ at all branches, administrative offices and the Pune head office. On this joyous occasion, Bank of Maharashtra’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Shri. A. S. Rajeev said “Today’s Bank of Maharashtra is the result of the solid foundation laid by its founders eighty four years ago. We at the bank shall rededicate ourselves to focus even more on customer services and will continue to offer top superior banking services to our customers at all levels. The trust of our 2.5 crore customers is a testament to the strength of the bank.”
Adding to this, the Bank’s Executive Director Shri A.C. Rout said, “Navigating through tough times can be difficult, but the bank has managed to maintain its own identity by accepting Duty as Service and safeguarding the interest of the customers as they attain newer heights of success.”
Concluding the event, the bank’s Executive Director, Shri. Hemant Tamta, said, that the tough times require a lot of hard work and prompt, courteous service, which is key to customer satisfaction. He further added that the bank is endeavouring towards customer enlightenment with various customer friendly and competitive products. “I am confident that all employees will provide the considerate and quick services as per expectations of customers in future also”, he said.
Earlier this month, the RBI announced the exit of Bank of Maharashtra from the PCA framework. The bank’s strong turnaround strategy has led to an improvement in asset quality, a reduction in the Net NPAs by over 50% (YOY) and a capital adequacy ratio of 11.05% post-recapitalization.
The celebration at Bank’s Headquarters Lokmangal, Pune started with lighting of the traditional lamp. Employees of the Bank showcased their talent under various cultural activities like singing, Mimicry, folk arts. On the occasion, all the top officials and employees of Pune City, Pune East Zone and Head office were present in large numbers.
