“If you have a positive attitude and strong will to accept challenge, there is nothing and no one in the world to deter you from achieving your goal. These girls have overcome their physical disability and have passed SSC with flying colors” These were the words of Mr Sushil Muhnot, Chairman & Managing Director of Bank of Maharashtra, while felicitating ten vision impaired girls who have successfully passed the SSC exams this year.
Mr Muhnot was speaking at an event hosted by “Swashakti” forum of Bank of Maharashtra. This forum has been formed for the empowerment of its women employees. Mr Athmaram, Executive Director of the bank also graced the occasion and encouraged “Swashakti” towards social responsibility. All the General Managers were also present for the event along with Ms Nalini Sriraman, Dy General Manager, Ms Valsa Joseph Asst General Manager.
Bank of Maharashtra has always spearheaded the cause of Social Responsibility. To encourage the girls for higher studies, the bank gifted touch watches and a locker cabinet to all the ten girls, who were delighted to receive the gift as a token of appreciation.
School bags were gifted to 40 children of housekeeping staff at the hands of all the General Managers. These were procured from the voluntary contribution of the “Swashakti” women members of Head Office. Mr Muhnot appreciated the efforts taken by Swashakti for the welfare of these children. The children were overjoyed to receive the gifts which would be very useful for their school.
The event was chaired by Ms Sukhita Bhave, chairperson “Swashakti” and attended by Ms Gupte, secretary “Swashakti” and all the women employees of Bank of Maharashtra, Head Office.
