The Olive Bistro is a charming, rustic slice of the Mediterranean, where life imitates art and often, the other way around. Set in the backyard of the leafy, quiet Poona Club at Bund Garden Road, Olive Bistro takes play amidst the beautiful backdrop of an old world villa, a 124-year old throwback to the British era, with a beautiful restored wood pavilion, stone walls and a sprawling courtyard.
This Wednesday : Behrooz
Behrooz Mihankhah Singer/Songwriter was born in 1991 in Tehran, Iran. Behrooz has been singing since childhood. At the age of 15 he recorded covers of Persian classics for local distribution. He came to India in the year 2007.
He started performing professionally in India late 2011. He is known for his solo acts in Pune where he performs his original music at venues such as High Spirits Café, Swig, Cocoparra, Flea Markets, Olive Bistro and the list goes on. His sound can be described as soothing acoustic blues and a touch of jazz.
He started his musical journey by singing covers of the bands/artists that inspired him and gradually started composing his own music.
Behrooz was inspired to write his own lyrics by the political unrest in Iran that he witnessed during his formative years. He now composes songs based on his experiences and his observations. One of his popular compositions is a song called ‘Please Mr Policeman’ which ridicules Pune’s Traffic Cops affinity for bribes.
