Organizes National ‘meet-and-greet’ for its channel partners and dealers giving them an opportunity to meet with their favorite kabaddi stars
Mumbai, January 09, 2019: Eight out of the 12 teams which contested the recently concluded season 6 of the VIVO Pro Kabbadi league got a massive boost when Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT), India’s leading manufacturer of off-highway tires, partnered them in October last year. These marquee teams included Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, U.P. Yoddha, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi, and Haryana Steelers. This move by BKT worked in tandem with their love for the sport and their philosophy of ‘growing together’.
In addition to BKT gaining visibility through the use of the logo on the team jerseys, the teams also received a massive filipin term of International exposure, owing to BKT’s presence in over 160 countries around the World. This contributed greatly to the increase in the participation levels of the sport.
BKT organized an exciting CrossFit-themed event to celebrate this successful partnership, with a couple of star players from the sponsored teams. This event was attended by Mr. Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, Balkrishna Industries Ltd. along with a number of channel partners and dealers. The emcee for the event was the incredibly fit and talented – Mandira Bedi.
Mr. Poddar shared his thoughts on BKT’s successful partnership with teams of the Pro Kabaddi league: “Kabaddi as a sport is loved and followed passionately by the masses and we could think of no better way of promoting the sport, rather than partnering with these seven popular teams in the Pro Kabaddi League. We have received a thunderous response this season through our partnership with them and we look forward to our continued association in the future. It was also very evident from the use of our tires today, that we can also contribute greatly to sports such as kabaddi by keeping athletes strong and fit as well!”
The emcee welcomed everyone to the event and the players and BKT officials shared their insights on how this sponsorship has helped develop Kabaddi as a whole. After a few questions, there were a few cross-fit acts organized for the players and officials, which also involved the display of their strength, and a showcase of CrossFit themed exercises, using a special BKT Tire.
BKT’s Pro Kabaddi league partnership builds on its sponsorship of international sports worldwide. This includes a partnership agreement it recently signed with Cricket Australia’s KFC Big Bash League for the three-year period between 2018-2021, its 2013 partnership with the Monster Jam circuit, the American live motorsport event with giant trucks performing stunts equipped with BKT tyres, as well as the sponsorship agreement with the Lega Nazionale Professionisti B, the governing body of the B football series in Italy, for the second division championship which is now called “Serie BKT” and la Ligue de Football Professionnel, the governing body of Professional French football, for the Ligue’s National Cup which is now called Coupe de la Ligue BKT.
