Pune: On the occasion of World Heritage Week, Intach Heritage Academy of Delhi (IHA) had arranged a first of its kind Youth Forum in association with UNESCO. For this forum, Assistant Professor, Mahesh Bangad of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women (BNCA) was selected.Moe Chiba of UNESCO, Janveej Sharma of Department of Excavation, Salim Baig and Shikha Jain of National Monument Authority (NMA) were present on the occasion.
Mahesh Bangad presented the cultural heritage of Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur and Nashik. He also received an opportunity to take part in the exchange of ideas and information regarding the cultural heritages of the world. This information would be applied in helping to preserve the cultural heritages in Pune. Bangad explained that in this five-day forum, the youngsters received an opportunity to take part in different initiatives. Also, they presented how the ideal cultural heritages of different countries should be in front of the committee. On the same lines, a draft too was prepared.
Bangad further informed that this event was coordinated by Navin Piplani, Director of Intach Heritage Academy (IHA) and was organized by Ritika Khanna.
In a similar area, in an attempt to preserve the historical legacy of women, BNCA has arranged a conference in the coming August.
