Burberry has been recognised as the Industry leader in the 2016 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) in the ‘Consumer Durables & Apparel’ sector. This is the second consecutive year that Burberry has been included in the index, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to continuously explore more productive and sustainable ways of working.

The index serves as a benchmark for asset managers who integrate sustainability considerations into their decision-making. It is a significant global metric, enabling investors to analyse the many economic, environmental and social factors that are relevant to companies’ success.
Burberry is also listed in the FTSE4Good Index and the MSCI Global Sustainability Index Series, is a participant of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and a member of the UN Global Compact, the Ethical Trading Initiative and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC). Burberry was also recognised in RobecoSAM’s 2016 Sustainability Yearbook as ‘Industry Mover, Bronze Class’ in the Textiles, Apparel and Luxury Goods category, for having achieved the largest proportional improvement in its sustainability performance.
