Zuvius Lifesciences’ Pink Street Campaign Creates Record with India’s Largest Handprinted 6200 sq ft. Ribbon
Pune: The second edition of Zuvius Lifesciences’ Pink Street Campaign has set a new record by unveiling the country’s largest hand printed cancer awareness ribbon. This unique ribbon was unveiled on 3rd February 2018 at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Karad, Maharashtra. People got together in large numbers to decorate the ribbon and to show their support towards the prevention of the dreadful disease.
The Pink Street initiative was started by Zuvius Lifesciences with an aim to create awareness regarding cancer, its causes, symptoms, and preventions. The initiative also salutes the survivors who have fought the disease against all odds and are living their lives gracefully.
The Indian Council of Medical Research estimates 17.3 lakh new cases of cancer and 8.8 lakh cancer deaths by 2020. This makes it even more important for the masses to be aware of the deadly disease. This was why Zuvius Lifesciences opted for a record-setting initiative in order to catch public attention. The Pink Street campaign started in Pune in 2016 and received a very good response.
At Karad, Alka Chavan, Director – Marketing of Zuvius Lifesciences, said, “We wanted the entire country to sit up and notice the urgency of this potential epidemic and work on preventing it. This is why we timed it as a run-up to World Cancer Day, which falls on February 4.”
“Through the Pink Street campaign, we hope to reach out to as many men and women as possible, and educate them about cancer, its symptoms and preventive as well as screening measures,” saif Shailesh Shetty, Director –Admin & Operations at Zuvius. “We want to take the fight against cancer to every home, every tiny lane, every nook and corner of the country.”
