Pune, September 25, 2017: Pune based artist ‘Madhuri Bhaduri’ is currently hosting a solo show ‘Canvas and Beyond’ at her studio, ‘Studio-M’. The show will showcase a collection of Madhuri’s art works from the series reflections, horizons, glimpses and beyond.
The ‘Reflection’ series captures the artist’s diligent exploration of using rain and water as a trope.
Madhuri’s series ‘Horizons’ are idealistic compositions of landscapes that focus on the alluring aspects of life in the city.
Another striking artwork is a patchwork of slum-dwellers roofs viewed from above or walking down an empty street surrounded by an array of houses, Madhuri’s rooftop series seem to bring the viewer very close to the subjects, without actually revealing the figures.
Beyond Madhuri’s canvasses, the show will also adorn some of the recent works as she has found new mediums to experiment with.
The Mbers series are a collection of night lamps, chandeliers, T- light holders and table lamps that are hand painted contemporary expressions of glowing curios where every design is a unique piece. The Myraids collection consists of satin and raw silk cushions and table mats in psychedelic colours etched onto smooth fabric in unusual forms creating ultra modern atmosphere of quirk and style.
Musings is a series of standalone fibre cast sculptures painted by Madhuri. Melange is a series of furniture consisting of chairs and coffee tables where , art seeps into the flow of the design to create very niche furniture. Metallique series have expressive chairs, eclectic murals and figurines that are moulded, welded and twisted each cryptic creation emanates a dark energy that pulsates in the surrounding space.
So drop in at Studio-M and transport yourself into a world full of art!
