PUNE: Glenmark, a leading pharmaceutical company in Rata, in collaboration with Medipoint Hospital, Niramay Hospital, Mymer Hospital, Surya Hospital, Ruby Hall Clinic, Subramaniam Clinic, Joshi Hospital, and Vijaya Nursing in Aundh organized a high blood pressure awareness rally at various places in the city on the occasion of World Heart Day. High blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease. Every third adult in India suffers from hypertension.
A large number of citizens, medical college students, and doctors were present at various places in the city on this occasion. During the event, the world’s first Hypertension Awareness sign by Glenmark was unveiled. The symbol has been developed in consultation with 50,000 leading doctors in India and is supported by the API and the Hypertension Society of India with an aim to create awareness about the rising incidence of hypertension and the need for timely proper screening. After these programs, high blood pressure screening camps were organized at various places in the city.
Glenmark has planned a World Heart Day rally in major cities of India in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad in the month of September. These nationwide rallies focused on spreading awareness about high blood pressure, its signs, and its symptoms. And after that, a large-scale high blood pressure screening camp was conducted.
Being a leader in hypertension treatment, Glenmark aims to reach over 10 crore people by organizing 300 hypertension awareness rallies and over 8000 hypertension screening camps this month. This rally was organized in collaboration with various hospitals across the country. The company aims to reach over 200 million Indian adults through multiple mediums including digital platforms.
