Chicago, USA: Chicago & Naperville Community hosted a Conversation and Fundraiser for Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthy at Pita Inn Restaurant 1835 Abriter Ct, Naperville, IL 60563. Friends, well-wishers, and donors attended the event.
Speaking on this occasion, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi advised Asian American to get extensively involved in civic life and urged everyone to vote and become part of the system. He also advised the community to run for office and become a vibrant voice of the community.
Continuing his address, the Congressman highlighted the challenges, including finding ways to work with the folks across the aisle while conducting oversight of the administration and standing up for the values of the community.
Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi thanked the Chicago & Naperville Community for its broad based-support in his re-election as the Congressman for 8th District of Illinois, which includes the west and northwest suburbs of Chicago, for one more term. Raja Krishnamoorthi was elected in November 2016 as the Congressman to represent the 8th District of Illinois.
The members of the Host Committee, Mr Afzal Lokhandwala, Mir Khan and Ashfaq Syed, who spoke on this occasion, paid rich tributes to Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi for leading the passage of a major bipartisan reform of the national skills-based education system, which will provide additional funding to institutions that provide skills training as an alternative to a four year college.
Mr Vinoz Chanamolu, Director, Mall of India, Naperville, Ms Iram Shah, Founder Sonia Shah, Ms. Sadia Covert, Du Page County Board Member, Mr Azam Nizamuddin, Mr Shoaib Khadri, Ms. Saily Joshi, Mr. Moon Khan, Ms Shalini Gupta and Aiman Beg who were the Guest Speakers on this occasion, were unanimous in their opinion that Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, during his illustrious public life, focused on growing and strengthening the middle class by supporting small businesses, making college education more affordable, rebuilding the infrastructure, and protecting Social Security and Medicare.
Earlier, Mr. Syed Ashfaq Hussain, Naperville Community member, welcomed the gathering. The lively anchoring of the event by Mr. Mir Khan was an icing on the cake.
