Bikaner, December 14, 2016: Rajasthan government today held an event here to recognize the achievements of the state during the three years it has been led by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Addressing the event, Chief Minister Raje said, “In the past three years our efforts were to ensure that Rajasthan comes first in the country in many aspects. And we have been able to make that a reality with the support of our people. We got gold medal in skills development in the past two consecutive years. We were recognized with gold medal for Bhamashah Scheme. E-auction of food if it has happened anywhere in the country has happened only in our state. Rajasthan today is the top state when it comes to solar energy. The network of national highways we have today are incomparable.”
Bhamashah Yojana, the landmark initiative of the government focuses on enabling financial inclusion and gender empowerment in the state. The scheme integrates all social security efforts and directly transfers cash and non-cash benefits from all government schemes to beneficiaries through a unified platform. In 3 years, the government has opened 1.5 crore bank accounts for women heads of households to enable transfers under Bhamashah.
Other initiatives of the state government include Chief Minister’s pathbreaking water conservation scheme, Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan, launched in 2015 has transformed productivity and livelihoods of farmers and families in 3,500 villages, treating catchment area of 16.5 lakh hectares, and creating direct and indirect irrigation potential for over 60,000 acres. The second phase of the programme was kick started in the first week of December, 2016.
The Arogya Rajasthan Campaign has enabled the establishment of an online Health Information Network, linked to the Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme, that already houses data for 3.72 crore people in rural areas to enable access to free and/or affordable access to healthcare.
The state has made measurable progress in eGovernance with the development and implementation of IT infrastructure like the Rajasthan State Data Center & Network Operating Center, Raj Megh, Raj NET, RAAS – Real Time GPS and Biometric Solution Platform, and Raj VC – Video Conference facility. Earlier this year, Rajasthan also became the first state in India to create a guaranteed titling regime through passage of the Rajasthan Urban Land (Certification of Titles) bill (ULCT).
The investment interest that the State has sustained in the last three years has tangibly demonstrated the impact of these reform efforts, while the rate of conversion of this interest has gratified the appeal of the state as an attractive investment destination to investors and industry. Land has been identified for over 70% of the nearly 300 MOUs signed for investment of INR 3.21 lakh crore and 2.39 lack employment, and investments of INR 1.08 crore are already in the process of being implemented.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Raje inaugurated the Arogya Mela and Khadi Mela, and unveiled the women’s cancer awareness and health check-up camp, all key focus initiatives of the current state government.
In her concluding remarks, Chief Minister Raje said, “I am proud of all that this government has achieved. We’ve grounded our development in the three pillars of social justice, effective governance, and job creation, and have made measurable and significant progress. We are well on our way to securing a prominent position for Rajasthan on the global map.”
