Endorses CREDAI’s continuation of commitment towards sustainability on World Environment Day
CREDAI Further Pledges to Plant Million Tress under ‘Kalpavriksha’ Initiative by 2021
INDIA: CREDAI, the leading apex body of private Real Estate developers, representing 20,000 developers across India entered into an agreement with IIID, reinforcing its commitment towards a sustainable and green environment. By joining forces, CREDAI and IIID intend to create a common knowledge platform to share insights that will help experts from both the real estate and interior design industry along with the exchange of information on the latest developments. The partnership will focus on aspects such as water and sanitation, energy efficiency, sustainable design-oriented workshops, research programs and innovative techniques to establish India as one of the global leaders in sustainable development.
Elaborating further on the collaboration, Satish Magar, President, CREDAI National said, “With the objective to identify and implement various environment-friendly innovations and solutions for scripting a sustainable growth story, CREDAI is at the forefront to transform the real-estate landscape and to create a greener and healthier world for our future generations. We have always supported environment-friendly construction practices, the partnership with IIDD reiterates our commitment to a healthy and safe environment. Post lockdown, as we re-start building the nation together, it is imperative for us to commence our operations responsibly. Growth without sustainability will leave our future generations bereft of the fruits of development”
Jabeen Zacharias, National President, IIID said, “We are happy to partner with CREDAI and contribute to sustainable practices. With a unique amalgamation of expertise coming from both sides we are hopeful and excited to develop new techniques and policies that will help India achieve its sustainability milestones in adherence to the SDGs.”
Last year, CREDAI along with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) had amplified the Green Building Movement to the next level by ensuring CREDAI projects go green and enabling them to achieve the desired green building rating. It had also partnered with International Finance Corporation to promote green buildings in the country through EDGE, which is a standard certification for energy and water efficient buildings.
To address the challenge of solid waste management, CREDAI Clean City Movement (CCCM) was initiated in 2007 to provide a solution to overflowing landfills by developing a decentralized solid waste management system. To further create awareness about proper segregation and treatment of solid waste, in 2017 a not for profit company, CREDAI Clean City Movement (CCCM) was set up under CREDAI National for the promotion of this initiative at the national level.
Further focusing on this year’s World Environment Day theme- ‘Celebrating Biodiversity’, CREDAI Clean City Movement (CCCM) has launched an initiative ‘Kalpavriksha’ to plant a million trees across the nation by 2021.
CREDAI supports Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Atman Nirbhar Bharat and is committed to fulfilling this by focusing on achieving sustainable development goals through innovative technology in the real estate arena.
