Ghaziabad: The proposed Delhi-Dasna-Meerut expressway will be completed by 2017, Union Road Transport andHighways Minister Nitin Gadkari said here today.
The construction work of the project worth Rs 10 crorewill begin in the next two months, he said.
Once operational, the expressway will prove to be a boonfor the locals and will also be beneficial to the farmers,Gadkari said, addressing a Kisan Maha Panchayat at Saidpurvillage under Modinagar Tehsil.
Describing the farmers as the back-bone of the country,he said that the state and the country can progress only whenthe farmers are happy.
Gadkari said the Narendra Modi goverment is pro-farmerand is fully committed to their well being.
He alleged that due to the faulty policies of previousgovernments at the Centre, farmers were committing suicide inthe country.
