Award Winning Indian Director Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, The Golden Age, and The Four Feathers) joins this year’s ground breaking BOLLYWOOD TO HOLLYWOOD: GOING GLOBAL Panel at next week’s COMIC-CON in San Diego. The one hour Panel begins at Noon on SaturdayJuly11th in Room 25ABC and is open to all SDCC attendees.
Other SDCC Bollywood to Hollywood Panelists include Indian Super-Model and former Miss India Pooja Batra, Silver Ace Award winning director and star of multiple Bollywood blockbusters Radhika Chaudhari, Bollywood-Hollywood Global Media executive Ishmael Kahn, director and show runner Jude Gerard Prest, internationally financed executive producer Stephen Kaplan, and moderator Eric Forsberg (writer/director of Mega Piranha and numerous other movies for SyFy).
Subjects covered by the panel will include how over the last decade many US Studios have opened branches in Bollywood like UTV/Disney India, Paramount’s Viacom 18, Fox India, and WB/Warner Brothers, and how these new opportunities influence both Bollywood and Hollywood; and how as more and more Indian talent arrives in the US looking to make high production value Hollywood films, Indian financers are in-turn funding over a billion dollars to American Studios such as India’s Reliance’s venture with DreamWorks. The panelists will address the best path for Indians to have success in Hollywood as well as how avenues are opening for American filmmakers to gain ground in the Bollywood as it becomes more global. There will be a Q&A following the panel.
