Dragonair today announced the introduction of a suite of new products on its fleet of Airbus A320 fleet on all flights from Kolkata to Hong Kong.
Dragonair is committed to offering its passengers a premium travel experience and on that note has introduced the new A320 Business and Economy class seats with a brand-new on-demand inflight entertainment system, StudioKA, w.e.f. 2nd September, 2016.
From November 2014, Dragonair began the next step in enhancing the passenger experience when it progressively introduced new products on its fleet of A320 aircrafts. A comprehensive inflight entertainment system will be made available on Dragonair’s A320 fleet for the very first time in India, where each passenger can access their own choice of entertainment via the wireless IFE. The Business class passengers will be provided with tablets for IFE, whereas the Economy class passengers will be able to download the StudioKA app on their personal devices via the inflight Wi-Fi service.
Moreover, Dragonair has also upped the comfort offered in-flight with the vision to truly enhance their passengers’ travel experience. The new Business and Economy class seats will have a seat pitch of 28’ and 29’ to provide more leg room and head rest that moves in four directions for that extra comfort. The new design of the overhead bins ingeniously facilitates 60% extra storage space, a slim profile and a new LED lighting system for an ethereal ambience in the cabin.
Mr. Rajesh Menon, Regional Sales & Marketing Manager – South Asia, said, “We constantly strive to introduce services that can elevate the travel experience for our customers and make for a ‘Life Well Travelled’ experience. The east India market has seen a significant growth in the last few years. The new product suite onboard the A320 fleet, on all our flights from Kolkata is a great boost to this trend. The introduction of our new interactive Inflight Entertainment system, enhanced seats will usher in a combination of top notch entertainment, comfort and practicality. We are sure that our new enhancements will provide our valued customers with another reason to fly Dragonair.”
Some of the key product enhancements for the Airbus A320 include:
New Inflight Entertainment System
The A320 fleet will be installed with a wireless inflight entertainment streaming solution (Wireless IFE), offering passengers a wide range of exciting entertainment options through the extensive StudioKA library. Once passengers have downloaded the StudioKA Application to their personal electronic device they can connect to the in-cabin Wi-Fi network, enabling them to access the StudioKA inflight entertainment system and enjoy content that includes 80 Hollywood blockbusters and popular Asian movies, 500-plus Western and Asian TV programmes, music CDs, and 16 radio playlists. In Business Class, passengers will be provided with a tablet device to enjoy an additional selection of new-release and art-house movies, and more than 20 extra drama and comedy TV programmes.
New Business Class
Every aspect of the New Business Class product in Dragonair’s A320 fleet has been thoughtfully designed around passengers’ needs, providing a space in which to dine, work, read, rest and be entertained. Each Business Class passenger can access the Wireless IFE library, or enjoy premium content stored within the iPads provided for entertainment purposes. The new seats offer an extensive recline, extended leg-rest and innovative cradle motion that ensure passengers can relax in comfort and come encased in a fixed shell ensuring living space is not encroached upon by those seated in front. The ergonomically designed seat articulates into a comfortable “lazy-Z” position that allows passengers to be cradled in the optimum position for relaxation. The design of the seat ensures that ample storage space is available for passengers’ personal baggage and items.
New Economy Class
The new Dragonair A320 Economy Class features a wider seat, increased living space through a streamlined seat profile, and a comfortable four-way movable headrest. The new cabin design offers more overhead bin storage space and a new LED lighting system. Also, with the new Wireless IFE streaming system, every passenger can enjoy a wide selection of inflight entertainment on their mobile phones, tablets, or laptop computers. The new seat features two tablet holders – located on the seat back and on the meal table – for passengers’ viewing pleasure, while the 110V AC power supply will keep laptops and other devices fully charged.
