Dr. Prakash M. Deshpande had an illustrious career spanning nearly half a decade, which included teaching and research at the highest levels. Besides serving as the Founding Director of the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, then Director – R&D & Pro Vice Chancellor at Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU); Director at the Educational Media Research Centre (EMRC), University of Pune, Dr. Deshpande played a pivotal role serving as World Bank consultant to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
He was a distinguished member of the Symbiosis Academic Council, Pune besides being an integral part of the Symbiosis family.
Above all, Dr. Prakash was a loving husband to his wife Padma, a caring brother, a doting father & grandfather, besides being a lifelong friend and mentor to many.
