Pune: To harp on the importance of dental hygiene for children, Excellence Dhyas Foundation organized “Free Dental Check-up Camp” at, Laxmi Nagar, Yerwada, Pune.
With the help of 9 established city-based dentists, Excellence Dhyas Foundation addressed the children at Yerwada about maintaining a good dental hygiene, good oral health practices and sanitation. A dental check-up was also conducted for the children wherein they were provided with the basic tools for oral hygiene such as tooth-brushes and toothpaste.
The dental-camp saw around 100 children from nearby schools who enthusiastically participated in the activities and proved to be attentive listeners.
More often than not, the importance of dental hygiene is not stressed upon adequately. Due to which, a person faces several difficulties in the future. As teeth, unlike hair and skin do not replenish automatically, one must take good care of the set of pearly whites in the beginning to avoid problems in the future!
Mrs. Manisha Bharde, Secretary, Excellence Dhyas Foundation says“The importance of a good dental hygiene is known to all. But not many practice it. While some don’t practice it due to negligence, some are unable to afford consulting a dental hygienist. Through this initiative, we brought together city- dentists to help the children from schools in Yerwada understand the importance of dental hygiene and also simple tips for maintaining good oral health. We believe it’s a start to spread awareness and encourage young children to be responsible about their health and good health practices”
