Fashion Police might end sooner than expected

According to sources with E!, the end of Fashion Police might be sooner than expected, because executives with the network think the show is a “hassle.”

Ever since the death of Joan Rivers, things have been rocky for the long-running fashion critique show. Now that Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin have exited following weeks of backlash and controversy, it looks like the future of the show might be in serious jeopardy. According to sources who spoke anonymously to New York Daily News, E! might just cancel the show without any fanfare.

“They have off this month, but don’t be surprised if they cancel it quietly in a matter of weeks, when the craziness dies down a little,” a source said. The source points to an outpouring of support from celebrities (including Lena Dunham and Jane Lynch) for Kathy when she announced her departure as a major concern for the network.

“That’s not good. E! can’t survive without celebrity cooperation,” the source said.

New York Daily News also reports Giuliana Rancic is extremely unhappy on the show, and considers it an “albatross” around her neck.

As for Kathy, she remains adamant that the show just wasn’t a good fit for her. During a recent comedy set after announcing her departure from Fashion Police, Kathy told fans there was no Hollywood scandal surrounding her exit.

“It just didn’t work out. That’s it. That’s the scandal,”she said, in clip obtained by TMZ. “However, Hollywood, of course, enjoys blowing something up.”
