Pune, June 2, 2018: Ferrero India inaugurates the fourth edition of Kinder+Sport camp in Baramati, Maharashtra today. The camp was inaugurated by Ms. Sunetra Pawar, Founder, Environmental Forum of India in the presence of Mr Stefano Pelle, Managing Director, Ferrero India, Ambassador Inder Chopra, Secretary General, Ferrero India, Advocate Ashok Prabhune, Vice President, Vidhya Prathisthan and other dignitaries.
The camp will be held from 2nd to 6th June 2018 which is a part of Ferrero’s global CSR initiative aimed at promoting active lifestyles by encouraging dynamic play, sports among children and stimulating them to make physical activity an integral part of their lives. This year, over 400 children in the age group of 5 to 12 years from various schools in Baramati are expected to participate in the camp. 20 physical instructors who were earlier couched by Kinder + Sport trainers from Italy will be training the students.
As part of its continuing efforts to bring the joy of movement into the life of every child, Kinder+Sport has developed the ‘Joy of Moving’ methodology, an innovative educational model, based on games and dedicated to the all-round growth of children. Developed in association with Rome University “Foro Italico”, MIUR of the Piedmont Region and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), the method is based on games created to promote the physical, cognitive and social development in children and increase the life skills. This methodology will be implemented in the camp.
400 children are participating in the camp and are divided into four age groups (5-6 yrs, 7-8 yrs, 9-10 yrs, and 11-12 yrs) in accordance with their physical and psychological-behavioral characteristics specific to their age groups. Activities include a variety of sports such as soccer, badminton, volleyball, basketball, athletics etc.
Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Mr. Inder Chopra, Secretary General of Ferrero India said, “The Kinder+Sport project encourages physical activity across the younger generations, inspiring them to adopt active lifestyles to make it an integral part of their daily routine”
Mr. Chopra added, “We are extremely happy to present the fourth edition of Kinder+Sport camp in Baramati and the aim is to gradually amplify the activity in nearby cities beginning with Pune.”
In India, Kinder+Sport was introduced in Baramati in 2014. Last year the program saw participation from close to 400 children. Kinder+Sport operates globally together with partners such as Olympic Committees, Government Institutions, Sports Federations and Associations. With these partners the program has developed strong and continuing relations based on common goals and support for programs dedicated to schools and young people. Kinder+Sport Joy of moving is an international Ferrero Group Social Responsibility Project that aims to bring joy of movement into the life of every child.
The project promotes and encourages physical activity across the younger generations, inspiring children and young people worldwide to adopt active lifestyles from an early age, so that it becomes an integral part of their daily routine.
Kinder+Sport‘s ambitious goal is to increase and improve the time that young people spend on physical activity, bringing the project to as many countries as possible, in collaboration with qualified partners and experts: Institutions, 4 Olympic Committees, 126 Sports Federations and Associations, and the prestigious ISF (International School Sport Federation), that organizes and promotes games and competition between schools around the world.
The program supports physical education programs, provides schools with technical equipment, promotes student championships, supports sports events for children, organizes multi-disciplinary campuses to involve children in sports, cooperates with athletes and former champions as “ambassadors” of active lifestyles and supports research projects aimed at increasing awareness of the benefits of an active life.
First established in 2005, the project has grown steadily ever since, with the aim of reaching out to the highest possible number of children and teenagers all over the world.
Kinder+Sport works on a global scale, involves 28 countries and gets more than 4,4 million children moving every year..

– Different sports disciplines, among which volleyball, basketball, soccer, athletics, swimming, fencing, skiing, water polo, sailing, handball, dodge ball, badminton

– An international partnership with ISF (International School Sport Federation) that involves 40 million children worldwide, who take part in international sports events
