Pune, February 25, 2019: In an event organized by Sahitya Rangabhoomi Pratishthan on Sunday, Five young theatre artists were awarded the very prestigious Tendulkar-Dubey Memorial Fellowship of Rs. 1 lack each.
Sayalee Phatak, Actress, Abhinav Grover, Actor, Suyog Deshpande, Actor, Director and Production Assistant, Nachiket Devasthali, Actor and Neel Sengupta, Director, Actor and Educator were the fellows for the year 2019-2020 who were awarded on Sunday, February 24, at the hands of Ramu Ramanathan, Playright in the event that took place at Gharkul Lawns. Ashok Kulkarni, Managing Trustee, Sahitya Rangabhoomi Pratishthan, Satish Alekar, Playright were also present among the dignitaries.
These unconditional fellowships are given in the form of 12 postdated cheques cashable every month to the artist at the beginning of the year itself so that the artist is assured of monthly payment without any procedural delay.
Sahitya Rangabhoomi Pratishthan is a trust formed by artists in 2003 to promote art and artists. The Trust aims to cater to the needs and aspirations of artists who have dedicated their creative selves to the service of their chosen art. In the last 14 years, the organization has given 62 such fellowships.
