State Health Minister to unveil new app for diabetics
Event to felicitate diabetics who have reversed diabetes by passing the tough Glucose Tolerance Test
Pune, 26th September 2018: Freedom from Diabetes Research Foundation has organized Muktostav 2018 an annual program for diabetes patients on Saturday, 29th September. The program will take place in evening, 5 to 8 pm at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Swargate. Health Minister of Maharashtra State Dr. Deepak Sawant will be present as the Chief Guest. The diabetic patients who cleared the Glucose tolerance test (GTT) will be honored at the event. Dr Pramod Tripathi, Founder : Freedom from Diabetes Research Foundation will guide people on the process of reversing diabetes throughdiet and exercise. A special book for diabetes patients named “Diabetes friendly – Soups, Salads, Chutney and Dips” will be released on the occasion. The program will start with a special performance by the troupe of renowned dancer Shama Bhate while Drum circle will entertain the audience at the end.
Dr Pramod Tripathi said that it is a matter of concern that India is on the way to become the diabetic capital of the world, especially Type 2 diabetes which can be avoided and reversed if diabetics make changes in their diet and exercise regime. Through Muktotsav we aim to celebrate the success of those diabetics who have freed themselves from medicine or insulin and also passed the tough GTT test. This will give inspiration to other diabetic patients. Freedom from DiabetesResearch Foundation and Muktotsav which started as a small initiative 5 years back, has now turned into a people’s movement with people not only from Pune but across India making changes with diet and exercise to become diabetes free and inspiring others.
The highlight of the program is the launch of a unique app for diabetics and will be formally unveiled at the hands of the Health Minister.
