What are festivals, if not celebrated with loved ones? With this belief and Christmas round the corner, The Orchid Hotel Balewadi hosted the city’s first ever cake mixing event for pets.
The event started with Dr Vithal Kamat, Chairman and Managing Director of Kamat Hotel India Limited, welcoming pets and their parents with his larger-than-life persona.
Bubbling with enthusiasm, pets and parents alike, the cake mixing ceremony took place with the mixing of dry fruits and liquor shaped artistically in the shape of a dog. Curated by pet chef Sonal Zalkikar of PetFeast India, the event saw a variety of activities for the pooches such as a ramp show and quality show for best hair coat, best dressed, obedience and other specialised skills. To ensure the best results, the quality show was judged by a set of pet specialists with their domain in pet grooming, pet therapy and dog training.
With limited recreational options for paw-pals, this unique free-for-all initiative by The Orchid Hotel was a breath of fresh air. Set at the beautiful lawn area of the hotel on a perfect winter evening, the crowd’s joy knew no bounds as their furry friends indulged in gourmet treats, met their tribe and formed loving bonds to cherish. “Taking forward the notion of pet-culture, the ecotel has promising plans for all pets and their parents”, concluded Dr Kamat.”
With the setting sun and delights for all four-legged buddies, The Orchid Hotel ensured that all their guests went back with happy wagging tails and even-happier smiles.
