Pune: Ghodawat Consumer Products (GCPL), the FMCG arm of Sanjay Ghodawat Group the rapidly growing multi-diversified business conglomerate, today officially launched the new state-of-the-art Rice Plant at Majale, (Kolhapur) in Maharashtra.
As part of their business consolidation and expansion plan the new plant installed with Swiss Processing Technology will be able to process 180 metric tons of Rice paddy per day.
The new mill is equipped to efficiently produce Steam, Raw and Boiled rice (Basmati & Non Basmati). This plant will process all kinds of Basmati varieties like 1121, Pusa etc. In the Non-Basmati rice category, it will roll out products such as HMT Kollam, Sona Masuri, Sujata, IR64 etc.
The Unit is set up in a way that the products match the standard norms of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI). The newly launched Rice Mill is highly advanced facility with maximum automation. It is also in the process of obtaining FSSC 22000 certification.
The packaging of the rice available in 500 gms, 1 kg, 2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg for Basmati Rice segment and 10 kg and 25 kg for Non-Basmati Rice. Also the company will provide situational and customised pack sizes as per demand.
On this occasion Mr. Shrenik Ghodawat, Director, Sanjay Ghodawat Group said, “We are pleased to launch the new state of art facility. The new plant is a major milestone in the Group’s history. We are confident that this facility will further add value to our existing infrastructure. We have invested over INR 750 million in the unit, which is equipped with latest Swiss Technology along with trained and talented work force.”
He further said that “It is been our legacy to provide quality products to our consumers. The new plant will enable us to roll out new and improved products which will match international quality and taste. This unit also further reinforces our commitment to provide new products, which are well researched and perfected. Currently, our FMCG business is spread across in major markets in India like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Telangana. Apart from India the company exports rice to international markets such as – Middle East, Singapore, USA and Canada.”
The basic objective of a rice milling system is to remove the husk and the bran layers and produces the edible, white rice that is sufficiently milled and fee impurities. The graded rough goes through a number of processing steps.
The plant was inaugurated in the presence of the Mr. Danchandji Ghodawat, Mr. Sanjay. D. Ghodawat (Chairman – Sanjay Ghodawat Group), Mrs. Neeta Ghodawat, Mr. Sheetal Manere, Mr. Rajesh Ghodawat, Mr. Shrenik Ghodawat along with other important dignitaries like Dr. DY Patil, Dr. Amit Saini, Mr. Kalkapaanna Awade (Former MP), Mr. Sudhakarji Manere and Mrs. Jirange.
