Chicago: Hikma Herbal Lab, the first Indian traditional Herbal Supplement manufacturing facility in the USA, celebrated the “Hikma Herbal Lab Health Awareness Summit”, on the occasion of its First Anniversary on March 26th, 2016, between 12:00 Noon and 3:00 PM at Shalimar Banquet Hall in Addison, Illinois. The event was attended by a large number of eminent people from different walks of life.
The Honorable Consul General of India in Chicago, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, who was the Chief Guest at the event, said that alternative medicine, on account of its inherent strengths, has been gaining ground, at a mind-boggling pace, across the globe. He stated that the Government of India formed a separate Ministry of AYUSH in order to give a big boost to education and research in Ayurveda, Yoga Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, (AYUSH) and other alternative medicine systems.
Dr. Sayeed congratulated Hikma Herbal Lab, which he inaugurated last year, for its multifarious achievements in popularizing herbal medicine in general and ProHeart Fusion in particular, in a short span of time. He, however, underlined the need for rigorous research to test the reliability and validity of the herbal medicines in treating different ailments.
Mr. Raja Krishnamoorthi, Former Deputy Treasurer of Illinois and Democratic nominee for the 8th Congressional District, stated that the herbal medicines in general and those originated in India in particular have great potential in the treatment of diseases, in a holistic fashion.
Mr. Raja Krishnamoorthi congratulated the Indian-Americans for their multifaceted contribution to the remarkable growth trajectory of the US. He paid rich tributes to Farha Sayeed, wife of India’s Consul General, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, for the resounding success of her egg art exhibition in Chicago, “Eggstravaganza”, a couple of days ago. He thanked everyone profusely for their support in his recent victory in the Congressional primary and called for the same in future too.
Mr. Syed Hussain Khundmiri, CEO & Founder of Hikma Herbal Lab said that herbal medicines are a healthier, more convenient, and cost effective treatment for ailments. He stated that the major advantage of herbal medicines over the modern medicines is the absence of side effects of herbs compared with pharmaceutical medicines. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that the contemporary world is looking at the herbal medicines as one of best approaches to finding enduring solutions to a number of diseases, especially the chronic ones.

Towards reaching out to consumers, he said that Hikma Herbal Lab has partnered with New Royal Distributors to cater to 500 Indo-Pak stores in 12 Midwestern States, including three Pete’s Fresh Market locations in the Chicago area, signed an agreement with Mannadang to serve Korean community in the Southeast, and that efforts are under way to set up distribution in Texas to serve the Indo-Pak community. In order to increase awareness of traditional medicine, he stated that Hikma Herbal Lab has been actively engaged with Unani and Medical community. “Targeting more consumers and engaging the medical and traditional medicine communities will bring in its wake a number of beneficial outcomes for all the stakeholders”, he added.
Mr. Mohammed Kutubuddin, Chief Marketing Officer stated that the first year of the operations of Hikma Herbal Lab was eventful which involved the conceptualization and execution of a number of measures to diversify and enrich its reach among its customers, with a big bang.
Mr. Minhaj Akhtar, President, FIA Chicago said that Mother Nature is abundantly blessed with innumerable herbs which can be extensively used both for the prevention and cure of multiple diseases. He congratulated Hikma Herbal Lab for its sincere efforts in the domain of herbal medicine.
Mr. Syed Ashfaq Hussain, Senior Banker and Community Leader said that the modern medicines are extremely expensive and, many a time, beyond the reach of a common man. “Herbal medicines, which are not only effective but also inexpensive, provide the best solution to improve the health profile of people in general and their middle and lower middle class counterparts in particular”, he added.
The audience posed a number of health-related questions; the experts from the Hikma Herbal Lab provided informative and interesting answers to their satisfaction.
All the guests were served sumptuous lunch which was relished by one and all.
At the end of the event, all attendees went home with a bottle of ProHeart Fusion as a parting gift.
