Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday that there was no fear of Islamic State increasing its tentacles in the country as Indian Muslims do not let their children tread the wrong path.
“I am very sure ISIS can’t ever strengthen a hold in India, I hold our cultural and traditional values responsible for this,” he said as per media reports.
“As Home Minister, I want to tell you, Indian Muslims are the ones who don’t let their children get influenced/radicalised by ISIS,” he added.
Earlier today, Rajnath had said that the government would ensure peaceful, secure and harmonious environment in the country in the coming year, stressing that security of women will be its top priority.
As 2015 draws to a close, he had also said that the security scenario has shown marked improvement during the year, especially in Jammu and Kashmir and the northeastern region.
