PUNE: Indira IVF successfully concluded the day-long events of a walkathon and symposium today. The events organized under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padho initiative of the government, encouraging the safety of the girl child and their education as well as celebrating the achievement of 1 lakh successful IVF stories by the organization witnessed encouraging participation from people in the city. Many well-known celebrities and dignitaries attended the events and boosted the morale of the participants.
The 4-kilometer-long walkathon organized in the morning from the Symbiosis Playground in Viman Nagar witnessed massive participation from local people to regular runners. Asian Youth Athletics Championship winner Avantika Narale, among more participants walked for the noble cause, stressing the message about the importance of the girl child to the country’s development. Also in attendance were Dr. Ajay Murdia – Chairman & Founder of Indira IVF, Dr. Kshitiz Murdia – CEO & Co-Founder of Indira IVF, and Nitiz Murdia – Director & Co-Founder of Indira IVF. The top female walkers Akshada Jadhav, Sheetal Javakk, Shweta Singh, Anvi Singh &her daughter along with top male walkers Sunil Rithe, Sajan Kumar, and Arnav Ravat were felicitated at the event for their enthusiasm and sportsman spirit.
The day was concluded with the “Save the Girl Child” symposium attended by Namrata Patil – Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rama Sarode – Advocate, Social Activist, Smt Sonalee Kulkarni – Bollywood actress, Smt Vaibhavshree Ji Jain – Sadhvi, Philosopher & Motivational Thinker, and Smt Sujata Mallic Kumar – Principal, St Mary’s School, Pune. The symposium saw a panel discussion that highlighted the pertinent matter of Women Empowerment – Magnifying Resilience with Real Life Stories; panelists included Dr. Ajay Murdia, Smt Sonalee Kulkarni, Smt Sujata Mallic Kumar, Adv Rama Sarode, DCP Namrata Patil, and Smt Vaibhavshreeji Jain.
Reflecting on the journey that led to 1 lakh successful stories, Dr. Ajay Murdia – Chairperson and Founder of Indira IVF said, “When Navya, a little child, was born in 2011, we had our first success story. It gives me great pleasure to see how far we have gone in our aim to assist couples who are having difficulty growing their family, from one life back then to one lakh a decade later. We are determined to break people free from the shackles of infertility and provide medical solutions for their treatment.”
Speaking on the milestone, Dr. KshitizMurdia – CEO & Co-Founder of Indira IVF said, “We hoped to change the way infertility is viewed in the society when we first started, and we’re delighted that more people are looking into medical solutions for infertility. Both events saw a participation of 1,000 people who took charge to spread the message of the cause. Other notable names that participated during the day include Adv Shobha Pagare, DCP Rohidas Pawar, Anushree Bathla, Dalijeet Raizada, Dr. Ashish Bharti, and Dr. Kalpana Baliwant, Preeti Kshirsagar, Kuldeep Bhardwaj, Swaminath Shah, Manoj Dilip Ingle, Yogesh Mulik, Rahul Bhandare and Sangeeta Galande. The events were organized in association with the Pune District Athletic Association, PUWO-Pune Womaniya™, Viman Nagar Women’s Club, Srishti Pratishthan, and Pune Peth Runner.
About 18% of married couples in Maharashtra are infertile, and 30,000-35,000 IVF cycles are performed in the state every year.
