Pune, Oct, 07, 2016: Reliance Foundation Youth Sports School Football saw Indira National School take on Camp Education Society’s Prerna Jr. College in the first round of qualification of the Senior Boys category. The match was an even contest between the two side with Indira National School edging ahead in the second half to go forward in the competition.
The first half action saw both teams vying to go in front in the early stages of the match. Indira School dominated possession of the ball and had a great opportunity to go in front on the 10th minute mark through a penalty concede by Camp Education Society. Shubham Kale stepped up to take the penalty which he placed towards the bottom left corner of the goal but the shot went too wide and missed the goal by inches. With chances few and far between the sides the score was deadlocked at the interval.
The second half saw more of the same action as Indira School dominated the game keeping hold of the ball. This time however they were more clinical in the final third and opened the scoring in the 43rd minute through Shubham Kale who made up for his missed opportunity in the first half. Indira National School doubled their advantage 5 minutes later in the 48th when substitute Arjun Hariharan scored to put his side 2 nil up. Indira National School would manage to close out the victory thanks to their astute defense.
The win progresses Indira School to the next round of qualification as they look to make it into the group stages of the tournament.
