Mumbai: International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF) announced the launch of Roll Ball World Cup – Season 3 at Goregaon Sports Club today. The World Cup is scheduled to take place from 14th to 20th of December 2015. The event was inaugurated at the hands of Raju Dabhade, Inventor, Roll Ball. Present at the event, were the committee members of International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF) amd Roll Ball Federation of India (RBFI). As per the statement issued by IRBF to the media, the companies Miracle Epic Events and Vedoo4UEvents will jointly manage the entire World Cup for this year.
Roll Ball was invented in Pune in the year 2003. The game is a combination of Skating, Handball and Basketball. Roll Ball is the only sport in the world, which has reached to a World Cup stage in 12 years. To add to this, International Roll Ball Federation is the only sports federation based in India. There is no international sports federation in India for any other sport. This is a perfect “Made in India Sports Model”. The game is prominent in Europe and Middle East. India alone has 1,00,000 players who play Roll Ball.
At the event Mr. Raju Dabhade, Inventor, Roll Ball explained to the media, how even after becoming an international game invented in India, the sport is not famous like other games. He further says, “This year’s World Cup will be the 3rd Roll Ball World Cup and will be organized at Pune. After World Cup, Roll Ball will be competing to get registered in Olympics. So far, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has already recognized us. We are sure we will soon be widely recognized across India as we already have had a good response in other countries in Europe and Middle East”
Speaking to the media at the event, Mr. Gaurav Gore, CEO, Miracle Epic, says, “We always see international games creating a benchmark in India and attracting heavy audience. IPL, PRO Kabaddi, Football league, CCL, Badminton League, Tennis League are few games which have become tremendously famous and showing a flamboyant image to youth. This year, after Cricket World Cup and IPL Season 8, India is all set to deliver Roll Ball World Cup Season – 3 on a large scale for the first time. Roll ball has done 2 World Cups successfully in Pune and Kenya with 30 countries. This is the first time India will host 50 countries at the same time for one game.”
