Ltd., a Pune based business advisory company has organized a seminar on SME-IPO, A New Way of Fund Raising for the SME sector recently . Experts like Clifton DeSilva Director Altina Securities Pvt. Ltd, Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Manager, National Stock Exchange andP.V. Moghe, Deputy Zonal Manager shared their experiences during the seminar. Pune, being the SME centred place, still the SME-IPO awareness is pretty less, as compared to a small state like Goa, where we have more than 20 SME’ s which are on the verge of getting listed under this scheme said Merchant Banker Clifton DeSilva, Director, Altina Securities, Mumbai. Further he added that, promoters of these SME always felt a threat of losing their control over their company, but the fact is there is nothing like that, its misconception, Clifton shared his experience that, if the SME gets listed, there is a possibility of four to five fold growth of a company, promoters should look at the advantages of getting listed. This facilitates an Easy Entry to go to the main board in the later stages of the growth. The enterprise should unlock their business values by getting themselves listed, which is very crucial for their own growth, he concluded on this note.
Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Manager, NSE, Western region, added that city like Pune which is one of the major industrial hub, need more efforts to Unlock values of Business on a wider platform through listing of company. NSE Emerge, which is a platform specifically made for the SME’s to get themselves listed, the process is not cumbersome and not painful as compared to Main Board listing, the fees are also less. Corporate Governance plays a major role in listing their enterprise.
Moghe, Dy. Zonal Manager, Bank of India, highlighted the banker’s perspective toward the SME and their fund raising activities. He expressed that Bank under the specific parameters can support in Expansion & Growth plans of SME’s. Bank has new products for Acquisitions & Expansions. Bank would like to go hand in hand in Financial support along with equity source.
