Smt. Jyoti Dwivedi Memorial Scholarship Will Focus On Developing Meritorious And Deserving Students
Mumbai, February 11, 2019: One of the country’s premier Management Institutes ‘Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies’ has announced Smt Jyoti Dwivedi Memorial Scholarship which awards monetary assistance for higher studies to meritorious and deserving students. The first scholarships were awarded to Rhutuja Dharkar and Bhimsingh Rajpurohit in a grand function recently organised in the auditorium at it’ campus situated at Churchgate in South Mumbai.
Under the scheme, beginning with 2019, two students of “Masters in Management Studies” will be given Rs one lakh every year under the “Smt. Jyoti Dwivedi Memorial Scholarship scheme”. The scholarship aims to meet the cost of tuition fees in the second year, based on the marks obtained in the first year and the economic condition of the student. The money for the scholarship is being given by JBIMS’s ex-student Nimish Dwivedi, who had passed out from the institute in 1993.
On the occasion, institute’s Director Dr.Kavita Laghate said that “JBIMS is very thankful to our alumni, Mr Nimish Dwivedifor his support to meritorious students in the form of this scholarship. I am very sure that the students will be really motivated by this award and will strive to achieve more in future.”
Nimish Dwivedi has rich experience in consumer marketing and financial services and has worked in India, Japan, Hongkong, Singapore and Dubai. At present, he is placed in Vietnam. Nimish Dwivedi said that “I am grateful to the Director and my business school for setting up this scholarship in memory of my mother. I give full credit to the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies for my successful career. I could pursue higher studies only because of my mother who was a firm believer in the power of education. She was part of the first set of women that could pursue her higher education and graduate from Rajkot, Gujarat in the sixties due to the establishment of a women’s only college.”
