The day of Sun. 13th August 2017 will be etched in the history of Punyadham Ashram as a day of pride and gratitude. Jay Vaibhavlaxmi Foundation Pune, a reputed organization that works towards support and upliftment of the needy in Maharashtra, confers the ‘Jay Vaibhav Laxmi Samajik Puraskar’ every year to deserving people who have spent their lives in the service of the less fortunate people. This year they conferred Maa Krishna Kashyap, Chairperson, Punyadham Ashram with this honour.
A grand celebration was organized by them at Krishna Avtaar Sanskritik Bhavan, Punyadham Ashram and it was attended by more than 600 people from different walks of life – Maharashtra Bhushan Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare and Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Chancellor of Nalanda University. Among the organizers were Shri Ulhasdada Pawar- ex-minister of Maharashtra, Shri V.S Ankalkote Patil and Adv Shashikant Page who held the post of Chairperson of Shree Vitthal Rukmini Temple Committee, Pandharpur, for ten years and also practised in High Court for many years.
Among the huge audience there were distinguished guests from the Armed Forces, film personalities and all well-wishers of Punyadham Ashram. There were some ex-servicemen from the Paraplegic Home, Khadki and teachers & students from the Loksewa English Medium School.
The program started with the lamp-lighting after which Milind Kulkarni, a well-known Marathi compere welcomed everyone for this grand occasion and followed by the felicitations of Chief Guests. Maa was then honoured with the prestigious award and a cheque of Rs. 1,11,000/- by the gracious Maharashtra Bhushan Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare and Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar.
Dr Vijay Bhatkar and Babasaheb Purandare shared their thoughts of Maa and how she has strived to work for the less fortunate whether it is the paraplegics from the Armed forces, needy students’ education, providing medical help to the needy, providing relief during natural disasters or starting a Senior Citizens’ Home. She has spent her life spreading hope and happiness to everyone who comes in contact with her.
In her humble speech, she expressed how much happiness and a sense of belonging she gets from each and every one she meets. Maa said that the love she receives is more important to her than all the recognition and awards. She reiterated how fortunate she is that she has such a huge family spread out all over the world. She said that the recognition is not hers alone but for all those who are along with her in this journey of spreading hope and happiness.
Deepak Paigude, esteemed Trustee with his team from Loksewa Group also felicitated Maa for her outstanding service towards the under-privileged over these years.
The program culminated with an elaborate and delicious lunch which was relished by all present.
