Deploys 30 Earthmoving and Construction machines to aid immediate re-building efforts
Delhi/Kochi, 31 August 2018: The unprecedented floods in Kerala have caused large scale damage and destruction. As the flood water recedes, the process of re-building of public infrastructure such as Roads, Power, Schools and Hospitals has commenced. An estimated 1,00,000 buildings and over 10,000 km of roads and bridges have been damaged in the floods.
The machines deployed include Backhoe loaders, Excavators and Skid Steers. These machines can be used to carry out a number of tasks such as cleaning of debris, excavation, lifting, dozing and road construction, among others. The machines would facilitate faster completion of work and would be deployed for a period of two months.
