Mumbai, January 05, 2019: With an aim to augment its training and skill building efforts, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. (KNPL), one of the leading paint companies in India and pioneers of ‘Healthy Home Paints’ has introduced ‘Nerolac Pragati Express’ – a mobile training academy for the painter’s community in the state of Maharashtra. The mobile van will move across eight different cities of the state as a part of the annual Kansai Nerolac Painter loyalty program called NPP Pragati.
The initiative offers training to painters to develop skill sets and help keep abreast with the latest trends, developments, and technologies in the painting space. The mobile unit will cover the cities of Pune, Lonavala, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Nagpur and Solapur. The journey of Nerolac’s Pragati Express kick-started from Pune in December’18 and will end at Kolhapur in March’19.

The Nerolac Pragati Express, as the name suggests is all about ‘Pragati’, i.e. growth and progress in the painting community – the immense talent pool of painters and craftsmen whom we help upgrade and shine on the personal and professional front. While committed to the endeavor of skill-building, we aim to train 5000 painters in the first phase of three months. There are various modules which would help the trainees in enhancing their painting skills through innovative theoretical and practical sessions.”
The academy includes salient features such as a 280 sq. ft. training area with a sizeable seating capacity, audio video system, air conditioning, practical area for painting, new painting design displays, etc. Their modules will include – the introduction of new painting techniques/paints and process; new automated painting tools usage training; new painting designs practical training; personality development and customer handling etiquettes.
The training initiative is an extension of NPP Pragati which is based on the four core pillars named Prakshishan, Rozgaar and Parivar and Uphaar. Through this programme Nerolac connects with painters across the country and provides them with skill training, child career guidance, painter accidental insurance up to 5 lakhs, children scholarship up to 10,000, etc
