And in the last 5 years turned into an astute businesswoman managing her three companies. “I always was attracted towards the glamour and fashion industry. But I really got inspired when I saw Manushi Chillar bag the Miss World crown. I would say my journey to walk the ramp began from then”, smiles Devayani. She discussed her dream of participating in a pageant with her husband, Shriram, who wholeheartedly encouraged her to follow her passion.
“I stared grooming myself at home, and also joined specialized courses where I acquired knowledge and updated my skills. Strict schedules, a balanced diet, regular exercise and dieting, etc. I succeeded in reducing my weight from 75kgs to 55kgs in just seven months, with determination and a commitment towards my goals”, she beams.
And then she enrolled for the DIVA Pageants, the brainchild of Karl and Anjana Mascarenhas, Directors, and the rest is history. “I cannot thank them enough – they have beautifully transformed us contestants into dazzling divas!”, she raves.
