Moss is a psychological mystery thriller adapted from Yoon Tae-ho’s webtoon of the same title, and directed by Korea’s leading blockbuster filmmaker of the 1990s and 2000s, Kang Woo-Suk (Two Cops, Public Enemy, Silmido). In a small rural village, the god-like Ryu Mok-hyeong (Heo Jun-ho) is trying to forge a haven for those wishing to be reborn and live untouched by the world’s evil. Flash forward to Mok-Hyeong’s good-for-nothing son Ryu Hae-Guk (Park Hae-Il, War of the Arrows) arriving for his father’s funeral. In an attempt to settle his father’s estate, Hae-Guk discovers a tangled web of secrets and lies and abuse of power that may ultimately point to murder. Note: The English-language version of the webtoon Moss debuted on Huffington Post’s “Spottoon” on August 3, 2015.

Yoon Tae-ho was born in Gwangju in 1969. He is considered by many critics as one of the leading voices of the new generation of Korean cartoonists, working in both traditional print manhwa and in digital webtoon. He has won the top honor in the Korea Content Awards: Presidential Award, Manhwa category in 2010 and 2012. From an early age, Yoon showed a keen interest in drawing, which led him to apprentice under manhwa artists Jo Woon-Hak and Huh Young-man. In 1993, he debuted his first work Emergency Landing in “Monthly Jump” magazine. He later became popular for the mystery thriller Moss, which was published in 2007, and Incomplete Life, which has attracted more than 10 billion page views since its release in 2012. Incomplete Life, which follows the daily life and struggles of a 26-year-old office worker in Korea’s highly competitive corporate environment, was also published in the print manhwa format in 9 volumes, and has sold over 2 million copies. Yoon’s latest webtoon, Insiders, has also been adapted into a movie, starring Lee Byung-hun (G.I. Joe movies, I Saw the Devil). It is scheduled to be released in Korea at the end of this year.
