Doctors and staff at Sancheti Hospital mourn the untimely exit of their brilliant surgeon
Pune: Leading Spine Surgeon at Sancheti Hospital, Dr Ketan Khurjekar died in an accident on expressway on 15th September at 10.30 pm. He was 44 years old and is survived by his wife Dr. Devarati, two daughters and parents ( Adv. Shripad Khurjekar & Mrs. Anagha Khurjekar). The entire Sancheti Hospital team and staff mourns the death of Dr Khurjekar who was a brilliant surgeon and a guide and mentor to many youngsters. He would have celebrated his 45th birthday today. Known as a master of complex spine surgeries, excellent orator, Dr. Khurjekar won many awards and accolades to his credit.
He was an excellent orator and faculty at
various National and International Spine meetings. He trained many young
orthopaedic surgeons in Spinal Surgery. Ever smiling, enthusiastic and humble,
he was loved by his patients, peers and students alike. He was a dutiful son
and a loving father and husband and a great friend to all. Above all he was a
genuine human being and his demise is a great loss to society.
shock over his untimely demise Dr Parag Sancheti said that our entire team at
Sancheti Hospital mourns the death of Dr Khurjekar. His sad demise has shocked
all of us. It’s a personal loss to me.
He was like my younger brother.He was a brilliant spine surgeon who was a
master of complex spine surgeries and
had healed lakhs of patients. He had successfully carried out more than 10,000
surgeries. He headed our spine surgery
department for over 15 years. He was
like a younger brother to me. This is a great loss not only for medical
fraternity but also patients.
