Mumbai: Zigy, India’s first health exchange, integrated with Zigy Health Vault, a first-of-its-kind patient-controlled electronic health record system has partnered with Lifespan, world’s largest chain of diabetes management clinics to make diabetic care more accessible and affordable in India. This tie up will help both the companies’ cross-leverage their respective strengths in diabetic product and services space to provide best-in-class diabetic care.
As part of the tie-up Lifespan products will be made available on Zigy.
With more than 66 million diabetic patients, India has a burgeoning diabetic population, second only to China in the world. Furthermore, more than 75 million Indians are ‘at risk’ to develop diabetes due to rapid urbanization, rising obese population and lifestyle changes (driving the prevalence of diabetes among the urban population). However, there is lack of awareness among people with 45-55 % cases undiagnosed coupled with lack of access to quality medicines.
Speaking about the partnership, Mr Ashok Jain, CEO, Lifespan added, “Diabetes management can be expensive, but there are ways to manage it well. We at Lifespan, strive towards providing affordable specialist diabetes care to diabetics. Since Lifespan’s inception, our focus has been on making diabetes care available within the reach of the patients as well as quick access to diagnostics & test reports. Be it our accurate & reliable glucometer with lowest-cost strips or our economical long-term diabetes care plans we take every effort possible to provide full care of diabetes and cardio metabolic disorders. We believe that partnership with Zigy will take specialist diabetes care we provide to diabetics to a new level.”
Striking a similar chord, Mr Hemant Bhardwaj, CEO, MD and Co-Founder, Zigy, said, “We are proud to announce our strategic tie-up with Lifespan, India’s leading healthcare company in diabetic care. Zigy is committed to collaborate with best-in-class providers of products and services to make world-class healthcare accessible and affordable to Indians.
