PUNE: With Diwali just around the corner, the iconic Pune Handmade Papers is all geared up to present a unique array of vibrant ‘kandils’ or lanterns to usher the festival of lights full of hope and positivity.
Within a year of the reopening under Studio Mars management, the Pune Handmade Papers with the expertise of all its in-house artisans personify the spirit of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and #VocalForLocal to promote eco-friendly Indian handicrafts.
The handcrafted traditional lanterns will feature the brand’s integrity with a contemporary twist. Some of the lamps or ‘kandils’ exhibited are influenced by Indian themes that look like fabric or handmade paper stars or based on the art of calligraphy. The highlight of the exhibit will be a popular DIY (do-it-yourself) flat pack lanterns that can be reused by just folding it back and changing the paper every year.
The lanterns will be available online and will be home delivered in a lightweight envelope pan India as well as internationally.
