Paris Saint-Germain vs. Metz – Live and Exclusive on Sony ESPN SD & HD on 10th March 2018 at 9:30 PM
David vs Goliath
With 74 points Paris Saint-Germain is currently are table toppers, with 10 games to go, PSG will look to wrap up the Ligue 1 championship. A few more points and then they can be crowned undisputed winner of the ongoing season. On the other hand Metz, who is at the bottom of the table and will be almost relegated this season, they have been in a pretty bad shape with only 20 points in the last 28 games. But are chances are slim that Metz will show any miracle given their current form but they can prove to be party spoilers for PSG and delay the inevitable.
Horrendous last meet
Last time Paris Saint-Germain locked horns with Metz was on 9th September. Les Parisiens thumped Metz with 5 – 1. Cavani scored a brace in that game whereas Mbappe and Neymar scoring apiece each. Benoît Assou-Ekotto of Metz was send off in the 55th minute. This game is expected to be no different from the previous match as Metz’s form has not improved one bit. Fireworks can be expected as PSG will try and vent out their champions league loss. Though the result is predictable, it will now be interesting to see the goal difference, PSG would aim for a brutal win and Metz would look to save some embarrassment compared to the previous encounter.
Hope for Metz
PSG’s defeat at the hands of Real Madrid and their exit from the UEFA Champions league must have hit their morale badly. Neymar, their star player is still injured and was absent at the Champions League game too. His absence was the difference between the two teams, it is fortunate that PSG has a cushion of 14 points from the second ranked team which secures their chance of capturing the title. PSG has been in a good form at their domestic league but have failed to showcase their form on international level. PSG will have to change its approach in terms of tackling the foreign giants. Metz would ideally want to cash in this opportunity by analyzing PSG’s Champions League matches and attacking their weak spots if they want to pick up some points.
