February 18, India: LinkedIn today announced a new way for its 55+ million members in the country to see the day’s top professional news stories and conversations happening around them — all in one place. This new experience shows you a list of the top trending stories in India as they develop, along with diverse perspectives and opinions from other LinkedIn members on the platform. Each of these top stories is curated by the LinkedIn editorial team; based on what is trending, they curate a comprehensive view of a developing news item complete with relevant, interesting commentary. Members can join in the conversation and stay up-to-date in a timely, easy manner.
On the mobile app, members can find the day’s top stories on tapping inside the search bar. On the desktop, it can be found on the right-hand side of the homepage. On mobile, it is currently ramped to 25% members in India, and on the desktop, it is ramped to 90% members in India.
Where to find these top trending stories on my Homepage?
On the desktop: It will appear on the right-hand side of the homepage under “What people are talking about now”. (currently ramped to 90% members in India)
On mobile app: Members can tap the search bar to find the day’s top stories (currently ramped to 25% members in India)
On clicking on a news item, members will see an expanded view of the news item with a short blurb followed by curated perspectives from a diverse set of members.
Members can find trending news stories on the right-hand side of their homepage on desktop
The new trending news experience will be available to all members on mobile and desktop over the next few weeks. It is currently ramped at 90% on desktop and 25% on mobile for all members in India.
