The Disney retelling of the iconic Christmas story The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, stars a host of talent, with Mackenzie Foy in the lead as the headstrong Clara Stahlbaum, and Keira Knightley as the preppy Sugar Plum Fairy.
The classic story is broadly inspired by the famous Tchaikovsky ballet ‘The Nutcracker’, known for its graceful movements and thrilling pivots and turns. Mackenzie Foy, who enjoyed coordinating on her own stunts and holds training in martial arts, was joked to be extremely clumsy off-camera by co-star Knightley, commenting that while Foy was absolutely skilled in doing complex action stunts, she sometimes had trouble walking in a straight line without losing balance.
When asked about her favorite moment on set together Knightley jested, “Mackenzie falls over a lot. This is terrible but it really makes me laugh, partly because she is a Taekwondo double black belt, I would say ‘Mackenzie you are doing fight scenes where you are brilliant’, but ask her to walk down a corridor and she falls over!
When questioned, Mackenzie responded, “Yes, I am a second-degree black belt, I worked really hard for it, and yes I suppose I do fall over a lot! It is so embarrassing, I’d just be walking, and if I get distracted or sometimes if I get too in my head then I just trip over.
