- Wrestling Coach Kaka Pawar and his family also to be felicitated
Pune, November 18th, 2016: City based Maharashtriya Mandal will be honoring Rajiv Jalanapurkar, CEO of Ramoji Film City with ‘Pride of Maharashtriya Mandal’ in the memory of Ex General secretary of Maharashtriya Mandal, Late Ramesh Damle. This is the 4th edition of this award which is presented to the ex student of Maharashtriya Mandal for their noteworthy achievements in the world of sports. Renowned wrestling coach Kaka Pawar and his family, will also be felicitated on this occasion.This information was provided today by Dhananjay Damle, Secretary, Maharashtriya Mandal.
The award ceremony will be organized on Saturday, November 26th at 4.30pm at Maharashtriya Mandal Hall located on Tilak Road, Sadashiv Peth, Pune. Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale will grace this occasion as a chief guest.
Maharashtriya Mandal presents this award every year to mark the death anniversary of Late Ramesh Damle. The award comprising a cash prize of Rs.10,000/- and a memento is bestowed to the ex student of Mandal annually. This year, Rajiv Jalanapurkar, will be honored at the hands of Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale for his outstanding endeavor in the world of sports.
Arjuna awardee, Rajiv Jalanapurkar is a noted Mallakhamb Player. He had represented Maharashtriya Mandal in Asian Mallakhamb Competition in 1982. He also presented his research paper at Olympics Science Conference in the USA in the year, 1984.
Kaka Pawar is a renowned wrestler himself. He has trained hundreds of students and is also known as one of the finest Wrestling Coaches in the state. He participated in many international championships and has also been honored with Arjuna Award.
